TITLE: Senior Account Manager I, NYC Business Solutions
LOCATION: Workforce One Career Center, Staten Island, NY
SUMMARY: Reports to Program Director. Strategy implementation and oversight of Account Management team with a focus on Business Development & Fulfillment. Forge relationships with employers to meet their hiring needs and successfully match the skills and abilities of the jobseeker to the right employment opportunities. Other administrative responsibilities and multiple roles throughout the Career Center as needed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Experience in sales and large-scale relationship management
• Experience in, or knowledge of issues facing one or more of the following industries: Food Service and Accommodation, Health Care and Social Assistance, and/or Retail
• Strong background in project planning and/or program management
• Meet and understand the skills of the participants to identify and discuss barriers to employment, as well as how to best overcome and present them to employers
• Provide assistance in finding employment for jobseekers through utilization of all community resources
• Successfully match the skills and abilities of the jobseeker to the right employment opportunities so the individual is successful in retaining the job as represented by the recruit to hire ratio
• Manage the day-to-day relationship with jobseekers, address jobseekers concerns promptly with an action plan to ensure satisfaction; Document all findings with case notes in a clear, concise, and timely manner
• Knowledge and professional understanding of a vast array of occupations/career paths (i.e. Computer Specialist, Teacher, engineer, Health Worker, etc) for effective placement/processing and assessment of clients as well as determining services most appropriate for their career goals
• Successful development and management of employers within the community as well as adjacent to the community to address their hiring needs
• Understand the employer hiring needs and referring the best candidates to the position, thereby increasing the recruit to hire ratio
• Create and manage referrals to AMT job orders in WorkSource 1
• Good standards of communications with existing accounts for effective feedback and follow up
• Market other SBS Hiring and Training activities as well as those of SBS’s Business Solutions Center
• Meet all SBS, NYC Business Solutions business development and fulfillment goals
• Successfully find, develop and recruit New Location Openings on Staten Island and Manhattan to meet and exceed our SOP requirements
• Maintain and display active job bank through creative means meeting Arbor and SBS standards including posting open positions on the Center’s Job Boards
• Effective communication and coordination to other staff members to ensure program performance goals are achieved
• Implement successful advertising strategies to increase participation in onsite recruitments, job fairs and other center sponsored activities aimed at filling job placement goals
• Provides motivational support to customers during the job search process
• Successfully document jobseeker success stories internally and externally
• Administratively maintain accurate and complete records and correspondence as required by the Program Director and according to standards set by SBS and Arbor
• Creation and maintenance of policies and procedures for Account Management Team and assists in the training of other staff members in those guidelines
• Assist in the implementation of the center’s annual SOP, Strategic Operating Plan
• Works under direction of the Program Director to facilitate timely completion of tasks to sustain daily operations and complete special projects; Assists program staff as necessary
• Produce word processing documents, including charts and tables. Proofreads and edits correspondence, memoranda, proposals, reports, and other requested documents; Maintain filing systems
• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Program Director
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
BA/BS marketing, business, human resources or related fields; Recruitment and/or Staffing Industry experience a plus. High volume work environment, particularly in human services, workforce development or an equivalent combination.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Relevant Work experience: 5 years plus
• Recruitment/Staffing Industry experience: 1-3 years plus
• Account management experience: 1- 3 years plus
• Staff management experience: 2 years plus
• Basic understanding of employment laws as they apply to the hiring process
• Strong communication and organization skills, computer skills, publishing skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely. The ability to relate well with individuals, ability to motivate, and posses experience in working with individuals having one or more barriers to employment including parole and probation
• Knowledge of various job search strategies, resources and actions plans
• Ability to follow instructions well; Adaptable, flexible and a fast learner; Creative and able to meet deadlines; Work well under pressure and goal oriented; Work well within a team concept
